ABOUT CARRICK
Carrick (from the Scottish Gaelic Carraig, meaning 'rock') is a former comital district of Scotland which today forms part of South Ayrshire.

Maybole
Maybole was the ancient capital of Carrick, once known as Miniboll and in the past inhabited by influential families. It has a population of 4760.

The Electoral Ward of Maybole, North Carrick and Coylton shows the largest employment sectors for people in these areas as Health and Social Work, Wholesale and Retail Trade and Vehicle Repair, Manufacturing, Public Administration, Construction, Education, Accommodation, Food & Drink, Agricultural, Forestry and Fishing.
